An R1 Visa may be appropriate for a foreign national coming to the United States as a Religious Worker serving in the role of a Minister, in a Religious Vocation, or in a Religious Occupation. R1 visas are appropriate for some positions in a religious organization, but not all. For instance, an R1 is not appropriate for people seeking employment in roles which are primarily administrative support positions, or grounds keeping and maintenance positions.

Visa R1 USA is Non-Immigrant visas, and are frequently, initially approved for 1 year, but could be approved for up to 2.5 years. They are eligible for renewals or extensions, and family members may secure R-2 status as dependents of a person holding R1 Visa Sponsorship USA status. While the beneficiary will help gather documentation for the application process, a qualifying Non-Profit Religious organization based in the United States files the petition and requests the visa from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration services. Many individuals and organizations find it easier to work through the application process with the help of an Attorney
